If you are having problems with your teeth, you will need to determine the cause of the problem. Is the tooth dying?

If so, you need to see us right away so we can get it pulled out of there.

Once your teeth start dying or decaying, the same thing could happen to the rest of your teeth, and then you will have to get all of them pulled out.

You don't want that to happen. Contacting us will be your best thing to do so we can help you quickly. Here are some causes, treatments, and symptoms of a dying tooth.

How to Tell if a Tooth is dying or Already Dead

First things first, only a professional dentist can tell you whether or not your tooth is dead or dying. However, you can check two things to determine if it might be what is happening. Check your tooth for a change of color first. If it is turning yellow, gray, or black, it may be dying. If you are experiencing some pain, it may be dying. See us for the right diagnosis.

What Causes a Dead or Dying Tooth?

One thing that causes a dead or dying tooth is lack of blood flow to that tooth. Tooth decay is another reason, and that is caused by not getting your cavities taken care of as well as not brushing.

Also, if you have had trauma to your tooth, this can cause it to be dead or dying. Injury to your teeth can be caused by hitting your tooth on a hard surface or getting punched in the mouth.

Getting treated for a dead or dying tooth right away is very important. Call us as soon as possible, and we will be able to treat your dead tooth. If it is dying or dead, we might have to pull it, but that is a significant thing that has to be done so that you do not get any infection in your mouth.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at (315) 800-5020 today.
