You never want to ignore any problems with your oral health. Not only will the problems only progressively get worse, but they will also begin to affect the rest of your body.
If you take any problems with your oral health seriously from the beginning, they can be fixed before they begin to affect the rest of your body. Here are some of the dangers associated with leaving oral health problems alone until they get worse.
Your Oral Health and Overall Health Can Decline Sharply
The first problem that comes from neglecting your oral health is pain. The longer problems go on, the worse it gets, and the more likely you are to struggle with pain. The next problem is decay. This means that your tooth is at risk of dying, and you are at risk of losing the tooth for good.
Another problem that comes from ignoring oral health issues is that they progress into bigger problems. What may start off as a simple infection that would take us only a little time to clean out and correct, could become a full body infection that leaves you facing possibly hospitalization.
Neglecting to care for your teeth can also lead to increased chances of major, lifelong problems as well. Your chances of things like heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and even possibly Alzheimer's Disease rise. This is not worth the risk.
When you have a dental issue, come in and see us right away. Never wait to see if the issue resolves itself. It is not worth the risk of what that simple little problem could do to you. When you call us, let us know what is going on. From there, we can determine how quickly to get you in and seen, and schedule your appointment.
