We all know how important it is to maintain a strict and rigorous oral hygiene regimen.
What we don't all know is what it should include, and when it is best to do so. That, my friends, is why we are here.
Come see us any time and we can set up a routine tailored to your needs. However, as a general rule of thumb, there are a handful of steps you should be taking each day to ensure that your mouth is as clean as it can be.
Where Do I Start?
Brush! The most important thing to remember is to brush at least twice a day. It is essential that one of these is the last thing that you do before you go to bed for the night, as it keeps bacteria from creating waste that causes the eventual decay of your teeth. The other can be before you leave for work after breakfast, or however else it fits into your day.
We recommend you spend 30 seconds on each quarter of your mouth with a fluoride paste, so a total of two minutes brushing. One of these times you brush you should also floss. It is important that you get all the way to the back, and continuously use clean floss with each gap. Finally, rinse with a fluoride mouthwash. This swishes all the loosened food particles and carries them out of your mouth, leaving you with a clean, fresh feeling.
The most important step in your routine is definitely regular appointments with your dentist. Our hygienists will do a deep clean, and mention any problem points that you may need to keep an eye on.
We have the experience and expertise to help you develop a routine that fits not only your busy schedule, but also your individual oral needs. Between visits, practice good hygiene on the daily, and don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have.
