Cavities can happen anywhere in the mouth. When you notice them in hard to reach areas in the mouth, such as below the gum line or even under a crown, then you have to have the problem taken care of sooner, rather than later.

This is because you want to make sure that a problem like this does not turn into a large problem that requires more work or something that is going to cause the tooth to fall out.

When cavities under a dental crown happen, this is something that has to be addressed sooner, rather than later. You need to make sure that you do not ignore this in the mouth since it can cause a lot of problems in the long run. Not only that, but when the cavity becomes very bad it can actually cause severe pain and tooth loss.

If tooth decay happens under the crown then the dentist will have to replace the crown that is on the top of the tooth. This is what is going to help the tooth heal. The dentist can then repair the tooth and place a new crown on the top of it.

This will preserve the tooth and ensure that the integrity of the tooth is not lost when the crown is not able to keep it safe, even when there is a decent amount of decay under it. This usually happens because the crown needed to be replaced.
