As a parent, it is normal to feel concerned about the health risks that radiation can pose in young children, so if our dentists recommend that your children receive this exam, we want you to know all about it. X-rays can have an effect on your tissues, particularly those that grow rapidly, as in the case of children. Furthermore, X-rays also have the potential to make cellular changes that can have consequences, which is why our dentists are very selective with the patients who they may recommend an X-ray examination. For this reason, our dentists will only ask your children for this procedure after a clinical checkup and review of their medical history, limiting the use of radiation to what is extremely necessary.

How We Protect Your Children From Radiation

If our dentists consider that the use of X-rays is necessary for your children, we will use high-speed images and specialized equipment, where we will ensure that the radiation doses are extremely low. X-ray machines use single-beam radiation, which further increases safety. In the case of dental X-rays, we limit the beam to the area and size we want to study, which together with the short exposure time, minimizes the risks.

Any part of the human body that we will not study, will use radiation protection. In our offices we will take care of the safety of your children, guaranteeing maximum protection and we will limit ourselves to carrying out this type of study when strictly necessary.
