How Children's Teeth Erupt and Fall OutAs a new parent, it is only normal for you to have many questions regarding your child's teeth development. We get many parents who want to know how their kid's teeth will grow, and eventually, fall off. At our facility, we advocate for parents' involvement in their children's teeth development as this will be important in their understanding of how to care for their delicate teeth. Primary teeth form in a complex process that involves several issues. It is important to come to the dentist's office to get your child's teeth checked to ensure proper growth and development. You should also consult with our dentist who will provide you with important information on how to promote proper dental health for your child.

Eruption of baby teeth

The first teeth for your baby should appear after six months although it can last up to one year. Before they emerged from the gums, the teeth were developing in tooth buds in the jaw tissue. As they develop, they begin the upward journey of erupting through the gums which can be a painful period for your child. This period is called the teething stage. The first teeth that emerge are the incisors, and most people call them the bunny teeth because of the resemblance. After the emergence of the first tooth, the process continues until your baby attains the 20 baby teeth.

Loosening and Falling off of teeth

Many people wonder what happens for baby teeth to fall off. What takes place involves the tooth buds which develop a new set of teeth. These develop beneath the primary teeth, and as this happens, the roots of the primary teeth are weakened, loosen, and eventually fall out as they get pushed out by the new teeth.

Bring your child to our clinic immediately after the first tooth emerges. Our experts will monitor the growth and development of the teeth to ensure that they develop a healthy set of teeth as they grow.
