During your dental examination, Janice K. Pliszczak, DDS will screen you for sleep apnea by examining the tissues of your mouth and throat, checking to see if they are enlarged. If the tissue is overly enlarged it may be blocking your airflow and causing you to stop breathing for short periods of time while you sleep.
